Celebrating our group's first Halloween at Stanford U by carving Antarctica and Greenland as Jack-o-laterns (~1km resolution)!

~ FRIPS Norway 2023 ~

Our group had a wonderful time at the Forum for Research into Ice Shelf Processes (FRISP) in the stunning valley in Bergen, Norway, enjoying walks and talks about science and life.

~ AGU Fall Meeting 2022 ~

We enjoyed many nice meals and chats with friends and colleagues in Chicago, and learning so much about ice in a week.
Ended AGU with a fun hotpot on a snowy Chicago day.

Hotpot adventure with Ruby, Ishraque, Josh, Riley, Dusty, Devon, and Yao!

Josh explained how ice sheet basal lubrication due to lake drainge perturbes the ice surface stresses.

Ishraque talked about his work of using Mask-R CNN to detect boulder on Mars.

Niall explained how basal crevasses can be destabilized to form rifts and how the critical threshold strongly depends on ice temperature!
